Govardhan Puja 2023: If Your Doing Puja On This Day Then Don't Commit These Mistakes
Govardhan Puja is also performed during the five-day Diwali festival every year. This festival, which falls on the next day of Diwali, has great significance in Hinduism. This auspicious is celebrated on the Pratipada date of Shukla Paksha of Kartik month. This festival of Govardhan Puja is also called Annakoot Puja.
Lord Govardhan, Lord Krishna, and Cow or Gau Mata are worshiped on this day. In Hinduism, a cow is considered to be the form of Lakshmi. According to a mythological story, Lord Krishna made Indra realize his mistake on this day and saved the villagers from Indra's wrath.

Avoid These Mistakes On Govardhan Puja
1. Govardhan Puja should never be performed in a closed room. It is considered inauspicious to do so. Do not prepare Annakoot in a closed room. Also, all the members of the house should worship together.
2. Do not wear dirty clothes on Govardhan Puja. On this day, worship only by wearing washed clothes. Do not wear black colored clothes on this day. Try to wear yellow or light orange colored clothes on this day.
3. On Govardhan Puja, do not forget to worship and serve a Cow along with worshiping Lord Krishna.
4. Parikrama has great importance on Govardhan Puja. Go around barefoot only. Do not make the mistake of doing parikrama wearing shoes and slippers.
5. If you have started parikrama, do not make the mistake of leaving it incomplete in the middle. Leaving the parikrama incomplete is considered a sin.
6. Avoid consumption of intoxicating and tamasic items on Govardhan Puja- such as eggs, meat, and alcohol.
7. It is a festival that is associated with nature. On this day, no animal, tree, plant, etc. should be hurt even by mistake.
8. Do not fight with anyone on Govardhan Puja. Do not abuse anyone or hurt anyone.
