Hariyali Teej 2023 Puja Items: Hariyali Teej is a Hindu festival that is celebrated by married women in the lunar month of Shravana which falls in the month of July or August, according to the Gregorian calendar. This festival is observed by married women and holds immense cultural and religious importance.
It is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati and women seek blessings from these deities for a happy and prosperous married life by fasting, praying and worshipping the idols.

In 2023, this festival will be celebrated on 19 August. Tritiya tithi will begin on 18 August at 08:01 pm and will end on 19 August at 10:19 pm. This festival is celebrated in the northern parts of India such as Bihar, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.

Hariyali Teej 2023: Puja Samagri (Items) List And Why They Are Considered Auspicious
1. Idols or Pictures of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati: The entire festival is dedicated to these deities, who are husband and wife. It is said that bringing their idols for puja is auspicious and they bless the couple with marital bliss and harmony.
2. Fruits and Sweets: You can offer fruits and sweets to the deities who represent the joys of life and seek their blessings for happiness.
3. Milk, Curd, and Ghee: These dairy products are liked by deities and they are believed to be dear to them Also, these items are associated with purity and nourishment.
4. Rice: Uncooked rice grains symbolize abundance as well as prosperity. It is offered during the puja as a gesture of seeking blessings for a bountiful life.
5. Vermillion (Sindoor): This is an important ingredient and is applied to the idols of the deities. This symbolizes fertility in women and marital status. Also, it is associated with the longevity of their husbands.
6. Mehndi (Henna): Applying mehndi on hands and feet is a traditional part of Hariyali Teej celebrations. Women often create intricate henna designs as a way of beautifying themselves and celebrating the festival.
7. Coconut: This fruit is a common item during pujas and rituals and it is associated with the divine consciousness and purity.
8. Green and Red Clothes: You can dress up or give green outfits to the deities during this puja as Hariyali means green and it symbolizes prosperity and red is associated with fertility.
9. Roli and Rice: They are used to perform aarti (ritual of waving a lamp) during the puja.
10. Panchamrit: This is a mixture of milk, yoghurt, honey, ghee, and sugar, this sacred concoction is used for bathing the deities during the puja.
11. Incense Sticks (Dhoop) and Oil Lamps (Diya): Lighting incense sticks and oil lamps symbolises dispelling darkness and inviting positivity into one's life.
12. Ganga Jal (Ganges Water): Water from the Ganges River is considered extremely pure and is used for sprinkling on the idols as part of the purification process.
