Gudi Padwa which is also known as Gudhi Padva marks the beginning of the Hindu New Year and it is celebrated in the first Hindu month of Chaitra. This day also marks the first day of Navratri. Popular among Marathis and Konkani Hindus, it is on this day that Lord Rama came to Ayodhya after completing 14 years in exile which signifies the victory of good over evil.
