Each flower holds a different significance and is thus offered to a particular deity. Hindu tradition holds great significance. However, a great many of us may not be aware that different varieties of flowers are offered to different deities. Following are some popular flowers offered to the deities. All these are avatars of Deities.

0 to10 flowers should be offered to Lord Shiva, 1to 9 should be offered to Durga, 5 should chosen for this position, for Hanuman, 8 for Ganapati, 3 for Krishna and 4 for Rama. It says that white and yellow flowers are dear to Vishnu, red flowers are dear to Sun, Ganesha and Bhairav, Lord Shankar likes white flowers but it is important to know which energy pattern, which colour or smell is not favourable.

1. Jasmine

Jasmine has religious significance apart from being therapeutic. If you are aspiring for his grace, you need to offer Jasmine first along with some Sindoor.

2. Palash

Palash flowers are one of the most essential requirements for worshipping goddess Saraswati. It is believed that Goddess Saraswati is fond of white coloured flowers, however, puja without Palash flowers is considered incomplete.

3. Marigold

Lord Ganesha is believed to like red coloured flowers, and marigold is one of them. This saffron coloured flower is offered in the form of a garland or otherwise too. This is one of the flowers that can be used in the form of petals too.

4. Lotus

The Goddess of wealth and prosperity, Goddess Laxmi likes to be worshipped with lotus and hence devotees use it during festivals. A lotus seed garland or mala is the best thing to in your puja mandir. the temple of your home is believed to please the Goddess of good fortune.

5. Parijata

Parijatha is a divine flower which is used to please Krrishna and Vishnu. This flower was also the byproduct of the oceanic churn and Indra carried it to heaven.

6. Red Hibiscus

The Goddess Kali likes flowers to have certain fierceness about them and that is why she likes hibiscus in red shade. The shape of the flower resembles the shape of Kalis tongue.

7. Purple Orchid

Purple orchid is popular amongst Hindus and it is predominantly used in Shiva worship. You can also offer it with milk.

10. Dhatura
As per Hindu mythology, Lord Shiva consumed the poison that was obtained during the ocean churning. During the oceanic churn, when the venom rose out of the ocean, Datura emerged from Shivas chest and became his favourite flower. this flower emerged from Lord Shiva's chest and since then it is believed to be his favourite flower. This Shiv puja flower is offered to the God to get rid of ego, hatred, envy, etc.
