Lord Jagannath of Puri is considered to be the form of the eighth avatar of Lord Maha Vishnu, Lord Krishna. The form of Lord Jagannath has been carved out of the log that came out of a Kalpa Vruksha.

The symmetrical face of the lord with round eyes that are open wide is a sight to behold. The idol doesn't have arms or legs. It is to show that the Lord sees everything and is ever awake.

He doesn't need hands to bless his devotees or to give out a good fortune to them. He doesn't need legs to visit the devotees and always resides in their hearts.

Today, we bring to you the Madhurashtakam, which is dedicated to Lord Krishna. The set of eight shlokas is divine and is one of the sweetest compositions dedicated to Lord Krishna.

It was composed by Sri Vallabhacharya and talks about how each and every aspect of Lord Krishna's form is filled with sweetness and bliss. So, read on to find the Madhurashtakam and its translation.

Translation
O Lord Krishna, Your Lips are Sweet, Your Face is Sweet, Your Eyes are Sweet, Your smile is Sweet, Your heart is Sweet, Your walk is Sweet and everything is sweet about the Lord of Sweetness.

O Lord Krishna, Your words (speech) are sweet, Your character and nature are sweet, Your dress (garment) is sweet, Your posture is sweet, Your movements (walking) are sweet, Your wandering is sweet and everything is sweet about the Lord of Sweetness.

O Lord Krishna, Your flute is sweet, Your foot-dust is sweet, Your hands are sweet, Your feet are sweet, Your dance is sweet, Your friendship (company) is sweet and everything is sweet about the Lord of Sweetness.

O Lord Krishna, Your song is sweet, Your drinking is sweet, Your eating is sweet, Your sleeping is sweet, Your sweetness form is sweet, Your Tilaka (Sandalwood paste mark on the forehead) is sweet and everything is sweet about the Lord of Sweetness.
