Christmas Season Sees US Atheists' Billboard Claiming Nativity A Myth

American Atheists
A huge billboard in the US, set up by American atheists, this Christmas season, which calls nativity a ''myth'', has attracted attention.

A group called the American Atheists has paid an amount of 20,000 dollars, for a huge billboard on Route 495 outside the Lincoln Tunnel in North Bergen, N.J., reports myfoxny.

The billboard, has the silhouettes of the ''Three Wise Men'' approaching the Nativity, with the words, "You know it''s a myth This season, celebrate reason!"-the saying goes on the board this Christmas Season.

The American Atheists group clarified that the billboard is not designed to convert Christians to atheism.

Dave Silverman, a spokesman for the group, said the sign is designed to discourage existing vulnerable atheists, of going against their reason, to celebrate Christmas. Its seems rather an alert to other atheists folks this Christmas Season.

On its website, the group also states that the US atheist billboard is meant to "attack the myth that Christianity owns the solstice season" and to "raise the awareness of the organization and the movement."
