Bansi Narayan Temple In Uttaraklhand Which Opens Only For A Day Annually
Bansi Narayan temple, is a captivating pilgrimage spot on the snowy slopes of Uttarakhand which is also referred to as Devbhoomi. Brimming over with temples, on all the sides like Panch Kedars, and the Chota Char Dham, it receives a huge number of devotees every year.
Dedicated to Lord Vishnu, this temple is above the altitude of 3600 from the sea level. This temple is ensconced in a dense thick forest in the valley of Chamoli. Nanda Devi and trishul Himalayan range is nearby. A statue of Vishnu is found here.

Now over to the mystifying details of the temple. It opens only for a day in the entire year. The day it opens is the day of Rakshabandhan.

On the day of Rakshabandhan, every household in in this village donates butter to the temple.prasad is made of this butter and served to the devotees. It is a trekking paradise for trekkers no doubt. The trek is about 12 to 15 km long and takes 6 to 8 hours to cover.
Pandavas seem to have built this temple. On the rakhi day, women tie rakhi to Bansi Bhagwan. Here in the close vicinity you can find rare species of flowers and trees due to which scenario is just breahtaking.
