Baglamukhi Jayanti 2024: Date, Time, Puja Vidhi, Mantras To Chant, History, And Significance
Baglamukhi Jayanti, also known as Bagalamukhi Jayanti, is celebrated on the eighth day of the Shukla Paksha (waxing phase of the moon) in the Hindu month of Vaishakha.
This day marks the birth anniversary of Goddess Baglamukhi, who is revered as the eighth Mahavidya in the Dasa Mahavidya tradition. She is also known as Pitambara Maa, Brahmastra Roopini, and Stambhanakari, among other names.

Baglamukhi Jayanti 2024: Date And Time
Baglamukhi Jayanti is celebrated every year on the Ashtami Tithi of Shukla Paksha of the Hindu month of Vaisakh. Baglamukhi Jayanti is also referred to as Maa Balamukhi Prakatotsav. This year, Baglamukhi Jayanti will be celebrated on 15 May 2024.
On 15 May, Brahma Muhurta will start at 4:13 am and will end at 5:01 am. Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga will start at 1:05 pm on 14 May and will end at 5:01 am on 15 May 2024.
Baglamukhi Jayanti 2024: Puja Vidhi
On Baglamukhi Jayanti, devotees must take bath in the morning and then engage in the rituals. After that they can wear new yellow clothes. The idol or picture of Goddess Baglamukhi is then installed as per the auspicious time and the goddess is worshipped by facing east.
Goddess Baglamukhi is then offered yellow flowers, yellow sandalwood, yellow clothes, incense, lamp, fragrance, naivedya etc. Baglamukhi Chalisa, which tells the story of Goddess Baglamukhi is read on this day. Then aarti is performed. One can also chant the mantra of Maa Baglamukhi with a turmeric rosary which is said to be auspicious and brings desired results.
Baglamukhi Jayanti 2024: Mantras To Chant
During the puja, devotees chant various mantras and stotras dedicated to Goddess Baglamukhi. One of the most popular mantras is the Baglamukhi Moola Mantra:
"ॐ ह्लीं बगलामुखि सर्वदुष्टानां वाचं मुखं पदं स्तम्भय जिह्वां कीलय बुद्धिं विनाशय ह्लीं ओं स्वाहा।"
(Om Hleem Bagalamukhi Sarvadushtanam Vacham Mukham Padam Stambhay Jihvam Kilay Buddhim Vinashay Hleem Om Swaha)
This mantra is believed to invoke the protective and victory-bestowing powers of the goddess.
Baglamukhi Jayanti 2024: History And Significance
Goddess Baglamukhi is the eighth mahavidya in the Dasamahavidya. Maa Baglamukhi is believed to be the creator, controller and the destoyer of the world. She is known by many names such as Oitambara, Bagala, Valgamukhi, Vagalamukhi and Brahmastra Vidya.
By worshiping Goddess Baglamukhi on this day, a person is believed to be victorious over enemies, and gets success in any work they do. Further, she is said to protect her devotees from every crisis of life and a person can also attain salvation by simply worshipping her.
