A short story denotes the manifestation and unmanifestation of things in cosmic consciousness.

Junnaid a sufi mystic was passing through a small village during a dark night. He came upon a small boy who had a burning candle in his hand, heading towards a mosque to put it there.

Junnaid jokingly asked the little boy, "Did you light the candle yourself?"

The little boy answered, "Yes Sir"

Junnaid said, "Then tell me from where has this flame come from?, Where?"

The boy was indeed clever. He immediately blew out the flame and in turn asked the mystic, "Where has it gone? You have seen it, where?"

Osho says that the manifest becomes the unmanifest and the unmanifest becomes the manifest. All manifestations arise and fall back into the cosmic consciousness.
