Golden Moments With Swami Satchidananda... Contd

By Super

On one of Swamiji's birthday, as I bowed down for His blessings, a fistful of rose petals caressed my head as He smiled lovingly. I was asked enthusiastically to bow down twice more on behalf of my pregnant sister and her baby in the US.

Gurudev's love freely flowed during different encounters and even during the death of His body. It happened in Chennai while I was engaged in a short term course. As I sadly wondered as to how I was going to pay my last respects, I had my cousin call up whether I wanted to accompany him to offer our obeisance.

My heart brimmed with gratitude for His unseen love for letting my eyes savour His tall still frame for the last few hours. I was asked to sing for Him as I secretly wished to do so for one last time. Further more I was blessed with the privilege to partake His half eaten biscuits and some coffee powder as Guru prasad handed over to me by His secretary. Last but not the least, an unknown person thrust two tickets in our hands, as my cousin and I stood perplexed in gaining entry into the over crowded airport.

Gurudev's statement that He would be able to serve the world better once out of His mortal coil is reassuring. The distance that existed while in His body is engulfed as He lives on within all that is created. One can still continue to see Him as the imperishable reality that has surpassed the ambit of time and space.

I bow down prayerfully to that reality that was an embodiment of unconditional love while cloaked in a form and continues to do so amazingly even while having discarded the form.

My respects to His holy feet.
