Paying The Master

A disciple who had served his master for a long time, attained his ultimate goal of realising the self after a long period of discipleship under his master. Tears of joy welled up his eyes as they rolled down his cheeks profusely, as he tried to free the words of gratitude from his choked throat.

He said "Master, what a wonder that I was ignorant about my own self for so long? I suffered all this while until you led me and showed the light. In what way can I repay your grace? It is not in my power to do it"

The master said "Well, well, your repayment remains in abiding continuously in the self without lapsing into the old mode of ignorance again !"

When enlightened into the non dual state of silence, where are words of gratitude as alike the nothingness of 'others' !
