Ahoi Ashtami 2023: Why Do We Worship Stars And Offer Water On Ahoi Ashtami? Know The Reasons
Ahoi Ashtami 2023: Ahoi Ashtami fast, observed by mothers in Hindu culture, is going to come in the month of November. This fast is observed three days after Karwa Chauth, which brings good health and good fortune to the children.
According to the Hindu calendar, this festival is celebrated on the Ashtami of Krishna Paksha of Kartik month. This year Ahoi Ashtami will be celebrated on Sunday, 05 November 2023. On this day, mothers keep fast throughout the day and break their fast at night by offering prayers to the stars.

On this day, after worshiping Ahoi Mata, it is considered necessary to offer Arghya to the stars. Let us know why the stars are worshiped on the day of Ahoi Ashtami and it is important to offer Arghya to them.
Why Is Arghya Offered To The Stars During Ahoi Ashtami Fast?
Ahoi Ashtami is the only festival in which Arghya is offered to the stars. The number of stars in the sky is countless. According to the belief, mothers worship these countless stars on this day so that they have the same number of children in their family.
Along with this, mothers also pray that just as the stars remain present in the sky forever, similarly the children and descendants of the family should remain forever and like the stars, the children should also bring glory to the family.
There is also a religious belief that all the stars in the sky are symbols of the children of Ahoi Mata, hence the fast of Ahoi Ashtami is not considered complete without offering Arghya to the stars.
