Sagarika Bhattacharya Who Inspired Rani Mukherji's Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway Opens Up About Her Own Experience
The trailer of Rani Mukherji starrer 'Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway' has recently hit the internet and her superlative performance with a moving story and an interesting plot is an emotionally loaded project. The actor is playing the role of a mother, Devika Chatterjee, who lives with her husband in Norway with two kids, and the story takes an ugly turn and she fights the authorities to bring back her children from foster care.

The film was inspired by the powerful story of Sagarika Bhattacharya, and she opened up about her incredible and emotional experience while watching the trailer.
In an interview with ETimes, she said that is difficult for her to express how she felt watching the trailer and reliving her battle. 'I believe it is important for people to know this story and to see how immigrant mothers/parents are treated even today, as is evident from the tragic story in Germany. I've been in touch with Ariha Shah's mother Dhara, whose little girl has been taken away. I implore you all to stand by her, just as I do. My support is unconditional, from one mother to another,' she said.
She also mentioned that in her entire career, she has never witnessed so much love and emotion in this kind of work. Sagarika wanted to thank Rani Mukerji for beautifully channelling intense emotions such as grief and struggles to win back her kids from foster care. 'She is a mother herself and I thank her for bringing a mother's painful journey on screen with so much dignity that I broke down while seeing her in the trailer,' she adds.
In support of an Indian parent whose infant was taken away by the German Child Protective Services, which was similar to the one shown in Ashima Chibber's directorial; #BoycottGermany began to trend on Twitter soon after Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway trailer was released.
