But behind closed doors, not everything is as it seems. Faking happiness in a relationship is more common than we realise, yet it can take a serious toll on emotional well-being. Staying in an unfulfilling relationship out of fear, comfort, or habit can prevent true happiness, whether alone or with someone else. So how do you know if you're pretending-or if someone else is?

One of the biggest indicators of an unhappy relationship is dodging real conversations. If you find yourself avoiding serious discussions with your partner, it might be because you fear confrontation or already know deep down that things aren't working. Open communication is the foundation of a healthy relationship-if you're constantly holding back, something isn't right.
