Sobhita Dhulipala Turns A Year Older — With Naga Chaitanya By Her Side
From winning Femina Miss India Earth in 2013 to starring in films like 'Ponniyin Selvan', 'Goodachari', and 'Monkey Man', Sobhita Dhulipala has carved out a space defined by range and quiet command. Whether it's 'Made in Heaven' or 'The Night Manager', her roles reflect a sharp instinct for storytelling across languages and formats.

As she celebrates her birthday today, here's a look at her journey with husband and Tollywood actor Naga Chaitanya - a relationship that unfolded slowly, away from attention, and led to a wedding in December 2024.
A Quiet Spark : From Sushi To The DMs
Their first real interaction didn't happen at an industry event or a film set. It was April 2022, and Chaitanya posted a photo of a sushi platter on Instagram. Sobhita, a self-declared "big-time foodie" replied. That message turned into a conversation, then a connection that bypassed small talk entirely.
Though they'd met briefly at Nagarjuna's home back in 2018, the real story started in a direct message and Chaitanya, averse to digital chatter, made the rare decision to meet in person. Within weeks, he flew to Mumbai and took Sobhita to lunch at the rustic, leafy Pali Village Café.
"I'm not a fan of texting," he told The New York Times. "When something feels real, I want to experience it in person."
Old-School Moves In A Digital World
Their first trip together was to Bandipur National Park in Karnataka. They spent a few days there playing chess, walking through the forest, and painting henna on each other's hands.
Sobhita later reflected on how their differences shaped their dynamic. "He's a doer. I'm a be-er," she said. "I'm the fluttering kite and he's the anchor." For Chaitanya, it was Sobhita's depth and clarity that drew him in. "I gravitate toward anything that feels honest," he said.
More than their romance, their interviews mainly focused on alignment, curiosity, and how their differences kept things interesting. "There's chemistry. There's curiosity. And we definitely wanted each other that much was understood," Sobhita said.
Meeting The Families
In December 2022, Sobhita flew to London with Chaitanya to celebrate his birthday. She met his family over New Year's Eve. A year later, in early 2024, Chaitanya met Sobhita's family. Their families met in a casual and unplanned way while spending time together. These meetings happened during regular gatherings and celebrations, allowing everyone to get to know each other naturally.

The Proposal
Chaitanya proposed in August 2024 in Goa. The engagement was announced publicly soon after, surprising many who hadn't known they were together. The date - August 8 marked the beginning of a four-month stretch of celebrations leading up to the wedding.
The Wedding And After
They got married on December 4, 2024, at Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad. The ceremony was traditional and attended by close friends and family. Nagarjuna shared photos from the day on X, writing, "Watching Sobhita and Chay begin this chapter has been a special and emotional moment for me. Welcome to the family, dear Sobhita."
A few days later, the couple visited the Srisailam temple in Andhra Pradesh - their first outing after the wedding.

A Steady Story, Still Unfolding
As Sobhita Dhulipala marks another year today, the past few years stand out not for dramatic turns, but for how clearly she chose her path - in work, in love, in life. From a sushi reply to a temple visit as newlyweds, it's been a story of steady choices that reminds us that connection doesn't always need a spotlight to take shape.
