Where love has gone
It would have been worth it, had both of you worked on it together, like you did when you were in love. Wake up before its too late. With marriage come maturity and responsibility. Love then seems to take a back seat. In the rush hour of managing home, work, finances and children your spouse is forgotten. There are no more stolen moments, no more sweet nothings; in short there is nothing but an empty monotonous life. You no longer have the patience to understand, the time to communicate and no longer feel the need to love. Marriage then takes a bad turn.
;However busy you might be, take a few minutes everyday to tell your partner you care. If your work demands constant travel, take your partner along whenever feasible. With more and more couples having to work odd hours, the time you get to spend with each other is very little. Under such circumstances, try to have at least one meal together. Surprise your partner by turning up at their work place, to pick them up. When you have the scope of spending weekends or a weekly off together, cook together, watch movies together or just go for a long evening walk together. This is the time when you will bond and share.
;Make it a point however a busy, to spend a few minutes together. This will go a long way in holding both of you together. Share your insecurities and fears. Also share your joys and promotions. Celebrate together and also cry together. When you can, just get a vacation. Where you do fun things with your children, it is important that you do couple things. So, leave your children with your parents, where they can have a vacation and the two off you take off to a place where you can spend some quality time together. This is a great rejuvenation, which will bring you closer.
;Give enough breathing space. Each person needs his own space and needs to do things that he likes. Let her do a girls night out and let him do his pubbing and boys night out. It is as important to do your own things as is doing things together.
Candle lit dinners, gifts, flowers and chocolates are forgotten once you slip on wedding rings. Always keep romance alive in your lives. Love is a life-long affair keep it alive and kicking.
No man or woman is perfect. Learn to accept your partner for what he or she is. See their positive and affectionate qualities than to pick on their flaws. Where you feel things are annoying, talk it out rather than making nasty comments. Never nag, it is a complete put off. Count your blessings. Very few are as lucky as you. There are many suffering in abusive marriages that have forgotten to love. There are many suffering silently in loveless marriages. Love is gift bestowed on you to keep and treasure for life. A life without love is no life at all.
