Dating a co-worker at workplace is nothing new. When you stay together for 8-10 hours every day, you tend to fall for your colleague. Be it movies or real life stories, office romance has been something that is trending. Although secretive, many professionals are falling in the love with a co-worker. If you like a colleague at your office and want to approach him or her, read the pros and cons beforehand.

Pros of dating a co-worker:

Always together: You are in front of each other and this makes office romance a fun filled relationship. You have all the time to flirt at office and keep a track of what your partner is doing. In today's time, hectic schedule has made it difficult to spend time with your partner. Thus, office is a good and safe place to meet together. Just make it a point to keep the office love secretive. Do not let other colleagues know about your relationship with a co-worker.

A nice work environment: When you are dating a office co-worker, you die to enter the workplace. Every moment becomes cherished. Work pressure and tensions look small when you see your partner smiling beside you.

A helping hand: Office romance becomes very romantic when your partner comes to help you deal with some issues. When you get stressed at work place for some meeting or project, your partner will be there to help you in the best way out. Even if your colleagues are in a competition with you, your loving partner will be a helping hand for you!

Understanding: As you two are working under the same roof, it becomes easy to understand each other in a better way. Many working couples do not succeed in their relationship due to lack of understanding. For example, if you have a late night meeting, your partner can get angry as you are not taking time out for him/her. In an office romance, you have an advantage to understand each other in such times.

Cons of dating a co-worker:

Gossip: This is one common cons of a office romance. Your relationship will be the hot topic of discussion among colleagues. Every now and then, you will hear about your affair. So, dating a colleague can be troublesome at times.

Can't be professional: Sometimes, you can't talk objectively because that might hurt the ego of your partner. For example, if your partner makes a mistake and you get scolded from the upper management, you can't show your anger to your partner who actually committed the mistake!

Too much together: As you look and talk to each other the whole day, there is no craze for seeing each other. In the beginning, you will dress up the best to impress your partner, but after few months, you will be bored. Boredom is a common con of office romance.

Difficult to break up: It is quiet difficult to break up with a co-worker. Humiliation and insult can force you to quit! Many office romance failures have ended this way.
