Women Prefer Committed Relationships

During the study, Carolyn Bradshaw of James Madison University in Virginia, US, and colleagues exposed 150 female and 71 male college students to a variety of situations involving dating,divorce,Marriage,relationship. The situations varied from asking a women for a date, a woman accepting or rejecting any sexual overtures, prospect of a hook up relationship or chances of having a casual sexual relationship.
The researchers found that women seemed to opt for a relationship more than men. However, they feared that they might get emotionally attached to a partner who is not interested in her.
The study also found men seemed to value independence and they feared that even while hooking up, a girl might want to have a relationship.
It was found that 41 per cent of the women strongly preferred traditional dating,divorce,Marriage,relationship, while only 20 per cent of men wanted to have a dating,divorce,Marriage,relationship partner. 2 per cent of the women preferred hooking up while, 17 per cent of men wanted hooking up to a long term committed relationship.
