Romeo and Juliet (1968, 1996)
Romeo and Juliet are the human symbols of romance and their story, the best loved and most popular in the world of literature. Written by Shakespeare, the
writer of immortal verses, Romeo and Juliet remains the ever best love story. Thus the celluloid versions of their romance deserves the topmost place in a Valentine's Day movie list. Leonard Whiting and Olivia Hussey in 1968 and Leonardo DiCaprio and Clare Danes in1996 played romantic leads in the movie. This epic romantic melodrama is undoubtedly one of the most popular and beloved motion pictures ever to grace the silver screen. Romantic leads are Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh. To date, no film has sold more box-office tickets than Gone with the Wind. The movie, undeniably a classic and a legend tells a beautiful love story on the back ground of civil war and political troubles.
Love Story (1970)
One of the best love stories, the film named 'Love Story' is a movie that fits the theme and emotion of Valentine's Day. One of the most popular tearjerkers ever, Love Story tells the tale of a rich law student and a poor musician who fall in love while attending college and get married despite the opposition from parents. Based on Erich Segal's novel, featured the famous tag line "Love means never having to say you are sorry", the film depicts a beautiful love story you may love to watch over and over. Romantic leads are Ryan O'Neal and Ali MacGraw.
Hope Floats (1998)
Hope Floats, undoubtedly, is a must-to-watch movie on Valentine's Day. The film shows that even though you can be emotionally crushed by love, there are still people who care about you and who love you even more. Romantic leads are Harry Connick Jr and Sandra Bullock who have done full justice to their roles in the movie.
