Father's Day: How To Prepare For It?
Father's Day has been celebrated around the world for almost one hundred years now. Tradition dictates that we take this day to show our appreciation to our fathers. This day is dedicated to all fathers, men who have scarified their joys and stifled their sorrows for the happiness of their children. His arms were the only place in the world
you felt truly safe in. Riding on his shoulders made you feel like you owned the world. Growing up, he was your best friend and your worst enemy. This is the day to celebrate fatherhood, which is usually a very thankless job.
Whether he is gruff or jovial, stoic or hearty, strict or easy-going, your dad has looked out for you his whole life. He might drive you crazy at times, but at the end of the day, there is no limit to the extents you would go for your father. This is the day to celebrate for your hero and role model.
Usually, you just get him a card from the shop around the street or save up and buy expensive gifts that do not have any real meaning. But this time, why don't you take some time to make this day special for your old man? There is nothing more precious than spending some quality time with your father, to show him your appreciation and love. Here are some ways to prepare for this Father's Day, to make it memorable for both you and your dad.

Fun Picnic
No dad can resist a day spent in the open air. Surprise your father by organising a family picnic to his favourite getaway. Plan the whole outing according to his pace and liking. Make all his favourite dishes and organise your family to do all his favourite activities. Make sure that the day is truly his.

Revisit His Childhood
Ask your father about his childhood and plan in advance to recreate his favourite childhood pastime. Pay attention to all the details to give him the feeling of travelling back in time. Go exploring or bicycle riding or kite flying. Gift him back a day of his carefree youth. Get him to share some funny stories of him as a young boy.

Organise Sports
Call all your father's friends to organise his favourite game in his honour. It could be something he used to enjoy playing in school or college with his friends, but gave up after he reached adulthood. Invite your friends as well to have a friendly match. And if you really love your dad, let his team win.

Impart Skills
Which father does not like imparting his skills to his offspring? Make this day memorable for your father by learning a special skill from him. It will be a huge ego boost for him, as well as a good opportunity to spend some quality time alone with your old man. This is a great bargain for you as well, since you get to learn a new and useful skill.

Unleash Your Creativity
Ditch your usual generic gifts this year. Your father deserves more than a new shirt or wallet, regardless of how expensive it is. Do something creative for your father like write a poem about him or immortalise a childhood story of his by writing it as a funny story and getting it published. If you are artistically inclined, paint your favourite moment with your father or draw a portrait of him.

Mess Around the Kitchen
Instead of going to an expensive restaurant and having a formal dinner, why not try cooking a meal at home with your father? His hidden culinary skills might just dazzle you. Lock your mother out of the kitchen and let your father have his way without interference. Even if the meal turns out to be a disaster, you will be left with a fun memory of your dad and a humorous anecdote.

Memory Lane
Revisit some beloved memories of your dad by creating an album or a slideshow of his life. Call up his friends to get all his embarrassing photos from school and college. This will be an excellent way to get to know your father as a person, since every photo will have its own story.
