Studies have shown that the number of single fathers has drastically increased than a few years ago. The child goes through all the trauma of the separation and then when they stay with the father, it becomes a little more stressful for that little body to handle. This is only a natural reaction when you are fathering a child alone. It is not possible to see your child struggle to deal with their problems. When you tend to overprotect your child, there is no doubt that they will become a rebel or dependent, both outcomes are not a positive signs in a child.

Be involved
Try to be involved in their lives as much as you can. This will make them feel that you care for them and that you want them to improve. Make opportunities to be together, this will help in building a good relationship with your child. Be involved but keep a distance too, this will help them understand that you trust them.

Support Groups
This could be one of the tips for fathering a child. You could join a support group in your neighborhood or talk to more single parents. This will help get you talking to the other fathers who are going through the same situation as you are and indeed can help each other.
