Activities To Improve Memory Skills Of Kids
We all know the phrase of 'All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy'. Many of us though ignore this phrase stating it to be cliched. Few parents are into assumption that constant studying improves the memory of their kids and helps them get hooked to the books. Likewise, in this time when most of the kids are constantly into internet surfing and do not get much time for activities.
At the same time physical activities are not recognised or encouraged by many parents thinking it is stressful and just a waste of time. Interestingly, this is not the right assumption because physical outdoor or indoor activities is said to improve memory skills and improve thinking ability of kids.
When we speak about activities to improve memory skills and increasing cognitive abilities, it does not mean that we need to involve the kids into such activities where they feel too much pressure and hectic. There are few activities that are extremely simple and do not require much efforts.
We need to realise the importance of both indoor games and outdoor games as they build self confidence and self esteem that enables them to be pro-active in both their studies and extracurricular activities. Likewise, internet has a negative effect on the children.
However, there are many brain games and puzzles that are found online. These games can be really helpful for the kids to build up their cognitive ability and improve memory. Including these brain games that are meant for kids to improve their cognitive ability.

Here are some of the simple activities that helps the kids to improve their memory skills and cognitive abilities:
Learning new languages
Strange as it sounds, languages play an important role in improving memory skills. Adapting and learning new languages give an exercise to the brain and gives an exercise to the brain inturn functioning well.Learning new languages enables good memory power, attention and concentration. It also improves our general knowledge.
Mind Game
In order to strengthen the brain function, mind game is extremely essential. This game is not something difficult but can be a bit challenging. Mind games are considered as 'memory vitamins' since they help in improving memory and increase memorising speed. These games helps in thinking as well as processing information faster. Some of the mind games involves in memorising of sequences and objects. Exposing our brains to activities like this helps us to be more confident on the memory tasks like remembering important events. These are very important especially when you are growing old and have the history of Alzeimer's.
Puzzles
This is one such game that involves a lot of thinking. Since most of the puzzles are challenging, they are considered to be the good teasers for
the brain. Many puzzles like jigsaw puzzles and math puzzles are too good to stimulate the brain.
Coordination activities
Coordinating activity is the best technique to train your brain. Games such as basket ball and some video games are considered to be essential as both the hands are involved to do certain extent thus coordination is formed. Apart from the games, even playing musical instruments are considered to be the best coordinating activities.
Memory power is indeed a natural talent. Daily practice of these simple exercises increases memory power and skills of kids.
