10 Foods For Your Kids' Brain Development
Your kid learns new things everyday. Classroom activities, studies, sports and so many other things are on your little one's head. On top of that he/she is expected to excel in all fields too. So much of pressure on the little brain is way too much. So, if you cannot reduce the pressure then help your kid to build his/her brain power by choosing the right food for him/her.
Leading nutritionists have researched and found out a list of foods which are excellent for your child's brain development. These foods provide the needed nutrients which are essential for the growing years of your kid. The food which your kids eat during this time affects their cognitive skills and brain development on the whole. Breakfast especially is critical for the school going children. Ideal breakfasts offer protein and complex carbs which help in keeping up the energy levels of your kid. It also improves the motor skills of your child.
So, watch very carefully what you give your kid to eat. Definitely the foods wont always be palatable for your little one. But you can always sugar coat the bitter pill and get the nutrients into them. Here are 10 foods which are excellent for your kids' brain development:

Eggs
Choline, a vitamin like substance present in eggs is essential for building the memory stem cells, deep within our brains. More the cells, better the memory. So, cook up some scrambled egg for your kid every morning in the breakfast.

Greek Yogurt
Full fat Greek yogurt keeps the brain cell membranes flexible. It helps in quick sending and receiving of information. Add a few chocolate chips to the yogurt if your child doesn't like the taste of it.

Oatmeal
Since oatmeal is rich in fiber, it digests slowly. This provides the kids with a steady stream of energy which is extremely essential in the growing years.

Fish
Naturally fatty fishes are a rich source of vitamin D and omega-3 which protect the brain against cognitive decline and memory loss. Sardines, salmon and tuna are all rich in these components.

Strawberries and Blueberries
Both of these juicy fruits are high on antioxidants. These foods have shown to boost cognitive functioning. The antioxidants present in these berries also have long term effects on brain function.

Milk
Fat free milk is a good source of protein, vitamin D and phosphorous. Unless your kid has lactose intolerance, milk should be the top item on the list of foods for your kid.

Apples and Plums
These are two lunch box friendly fruits which contain quercetin, an antioxidant which fights cognitive decline.

Nuts
These are protein packed foods with essential fatty acids and minerals. Nuts help in boosting memory and keeps the nervous system happy.

Turmeric
The substance called curcumin present in turmeric makes the brain grow. It also fights inflammation and blocks Alzheimer's plaque formation.

Meat
It is essential that the meat should be clean of pesticides and preservatives. Fresh meat it great for your kid's brain growth and memory. It is also good for building bone strength.
