Parenting Tips-Healthy Relationship With Your Children

Healthy relationship between parents and children account for a happy home. Here are a few parenting tips for a healthy relationship with your child.
Spend time with your kids
Spend quality time with your children. Allot time for them amidst your busy schedule. The time you spend with your child is not insignificant. Do not substitute the time you have allotted for your child for anything, for it costs their future and your family's bonding. Take your child out with you when you go to the market, or for a walk. Engage him in little things that you do, like gardening, cooking etc. This is the base for a healthy relationship between parents and children; the most important of parenting tips.
Communicate with your children
The quality time you spend with your children paves way for better communication with them.
Your communication with your children helps you understand them better. You get an understanding of their activities. Guide them with your advice effortlessly and naturally, without thrusting them consciously, except if there is a problem.
Understand your children
Quality time with your children and good communication with them helps in understanding your children better. The wavelength between you and your children is bound to differ. Stoop down to their level and try to understand them. Listen to their issues however trivial they may sound to be, like a row that they had in the class or while exclaiming about their small feats etc.
Do not thrust your expectations on them
Understand that your child is an individual on his or her own. Do not thrust your expectations on them.
Your child may not be the way you were with your parents. Though values remain the same over changing times, changes are unavoidable. Allow him to adapt the acceptable, while you guard him/her with all earnestness against the wrongs. For example there is no harm if he wants to have a funky hairstyle. When you come down heavily on them on such small issues, they are bound to do that behind your back, where you loose control over them while you really try to control. They are bound to get back to track with time and maturity.
Be their best friend
Be their friend, when you approach them. Inculcate a friendly relationship, crossing the barrier of just being parents. This brings about transparency in the relationship, which is extremely important while they grow. This also brings about emotional strength in them and builds trust in the relationship. This is imperative of the parenting tips.
Support and trust them
Support in terms of money and comforts alone would lack in the overall support you provide for your children, if there is no emotional support from your end. Trust is an effective means of support for your children.
Set them free
Considerable freedom ought to be given to your child. With effective communication and proper understanding, which help you be aware of your children's dealings, give them considerable freedom. Too much of tethering will drive them to cross over the fence without your knowledge. Further more let not too much of control in the name of parental care hamper their progress. This helps them to become responsible and independent individuals. Let them live their lives happily.
Thus a healthy parents and children relationship is imperative for the well being of the kids and a happy family.
