Nintendo Wii has become UK's fastest selling games console, with nearly a quarter of all households now owning one. Wii is a seventh generation home video game console released by Nintendo.

In less than three years of its launch in Britain, the Japanese company become a fixture in more than six million homes. .

According to Michael Brook, editor of gadget magazine T3, the secret of its success is Wii's motion sensor wireless controls, which make it popular with adults as well as teenagers.

Wii primarily competes with Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Sony's Play Station 3.
