African Art Which Is Truly Inspiring!

1.Ruth Nyakundi - Ruth has painted since she was a child. In her paintings this african artist expresses her thoughts dreams and emotions. She derives inspiration from the world and projects them in various mediums. Her art has evolved over the years and in the process she has become an accomplished and prolific artist. In 2002 she was adjudges as 'a talented artists of the year' by the national museusm jury and art critics.
2.David Mzuguno - Born in Kilimanjaro Region Tanzania, Mzuguno joined the Tingatinga group of artists in 1979. Mzuguno separated himself from the first, second, third generation of Tingatinga painters by adding a stong personal and genius touch to the Tingatingastyle. The works of this African artist are embedded in genuine naive creativity, thereby preserving the freshness of the inspiration. Mzunguno is regarded the greatest contemporary tingatinga artist. David Mzuguno passed away early this year. He is being represented by Joseph Njuguna Kamau, his friend.
3.Anwar Sadat Nakabinge - Anwar Sadat Nakabinge is a ugandan national. A self taught artist, he currently works as the Curator/Director of IVUKA ARTS UGANDA, Gecko Art Gallery. This African Artist has participated in 160 group exhibitions and 10 solo exhibitions both locally as well as the international art arena.
4.Wison Mwangi Kinyuat - Wilson lives in Nairobi. He completed his O Levels at the Nyandura School for the Deaf and traces his artistic development to the arts and crafts classes he attended. His work is characterised by the simplicity of form, brilliant hues in contrasting and graduated sweeps with an almost jig saw puzzle quality of elemtns, which blend together in a most hamonious way. He has shown his work at numerous galleries and exhibition spaces, notably the National Museum of Kenya, Tulifanya Art Gallery in Uganda, Spaces in Germany, Australia, London, Canada and Tanzania.
5.Joseph Njuguna Kamaut -Joseph hails from the Lari Division in Kiambu. Joseph trained under renowned artist Shine Tani after his secondary education. He was introduced to the Watatau gallery in 1994. He has participated in over 50 group exhibitions and held 8 solo exhibitions both locally and internationally. In 2001, he won the prestigious art award though ROSL- Overseas Leagur and travelled to Scotland and held travelling exhibitions in London and Edinburgh. Over 160 of his painting have found their way to art connoisseurs collections and corporate.
6.Christopher Oweycha - In Christopher Oywecha's paintings the colours and techniques express and elicit powerful emotions. His paintings with cubism, seek to depict an intellectual and abstract reality. This African Artist's paintings have a tendency of pulling apart and examining convections of existing models of expressions, his own characteristics and unique style.
