The official world pub crawling champions

A Southeast Queensland city has come up as a victor in the world's biggest pub crawl for a second consecutive year.
According to reports, over 3,000 people participated in the Sunday"s event at Maryborough. The city beat their biggest rival London, which stole the title from them in 2006.
Interestingly, the city has a population of about 26,000, while London is a resident to over eight million people. Maryborough first made it to the Guinness Book of Records in 2005, with 1,198 drinkers participating in their inaugural crawl.
City Councillor Anne Nioa, who also happened to be the organising committee"s chairwoman, revealed that the oldest person to participate in the event was 83 years of age.
"We held the first one four years ago and set a world record and then they held one in London and pipped us at the post so every year from then we actually increased our total but we have done a sterling job this year with 3,156," theage.com.au quoted her as saying.
The event was hosted by 12 pubs and one charity pub set-up in a car park.
