Bikes for 2007
Bollywood hunk John Abraham answered Simi Garewal in her popular chat show Rendezvous with Simi Garewal. And the two chat about bikes and this is what he had to say about it...
Simi: Is a bike female or male?
John: She. She is elegant, graceful.
This shows that men get crazy when the name Bike comes in their mind. They, love it, they are mad about it, they cannot live without it. Actors like John Abraham are found to pick up the best of bikes, which creates a Dhoom in the whole Bike market in India and abroad. As many as 60 new bike models are lined up for launch in the year 2007, new and existing players seek to consolidate their position in the fast growing domestic motorcycle market. Despite being extremely competitive, the bike market will continue to see double-digit growth momentum, as there are absolutely no signs of an impeding slowdown in the sale of the bikes.
If you have already made up your mind to buy your dream two-wheeler, think again. It seems the two-wheeler makers are pushing up their design and development teams to launch the best model line-up in 2007.
Hero Honda's 2007 CD
Here is exciting news for men who are searching for something new in bikes of 2007. The world's largest motorcycle manufacturer ends 2006 by flexing its muscles and announcing two new models. It is a modern and changing India today, in which bike models are fast improving across almost all parameters. Still, the small capacity 100cc economy bikes hold forth and reign supreme in sales numbers. Bajaj recently announced a 100cc bike, the Platina, and that's already gone on to build itself a really strong following in the country. In that aspect twin launches of the CD Dawn and CD Deluxe come as Hero Honda's reply, with both new bikes clearly aim at building sales and consolidating Hero Honda's numero uno status.
Hero Honda obviously feels that conservative styling is best received in India, for this pair is clearly styled along unexciting lines. It is rather disappointing although, that both the new CD's lack features. They use a familiar engine platform and come with specifications that sag a level below those dictated by competitive models. While the Gurgaon-based factory says the CD Dawn and Deluxe and both styled to tickle the fancy of buyers in their segments; they are of the opinion that all Indians today do appreciate and want more of the flamboyant style. While the Dawn comes with a round headlamp, the Deluxe enjoys a pleasant looking new bikini fairing. When looked at from a rider's vantage, this fairing seems identical to that of Hero Honda's blockbuster Splendor. An up market alloy grab-bar does duty at the rear of the motorcycle. A good safety feature incorporated comes in the form of a lockable main-stand. Instrument consoles remain visually similar to the Splendor family, while grips and levers are the top quality units one can expect from Hero Honda. So these are the options given by the Hero Honda group to the men of today to buy an accessory for themselves, to impress girls easily and any girl would coyly agree for the ride, if you have one of these.
