Republic Day turns Kartavya Path into the country's most watched address every year. From marching contingents and military displays to tableaux that reflect where India stands today, January 26 is a morning that draws attention across the country, both on the streets of Delhi and on television screens.
If you're planning to see the Republic Day Parade in person in 2026, or simply want to know how to catch it live from home, here's everything you need to know.
When Is Republic Day 2026 Celebrated?
Republic Day will be observed on Monday, January 26, 2026.
The main parade will take place at Kartavya Path, New Delhi, beginning in the morning hours. Alongside the main event, two other public ceremonies are also part of the Republic Day schedule:
- Full Dress Rehearsal: January 28, 2026
- Beating Retreat Ceremony: January 29, 2026
Tickets are issued separately for each of these events.
Republic Day 2026 Ticket Booking Dates
Ticket sales for Republic Day events open in early January and follow a strict window.
- Booking dates: January 5 to January 14, 2026
- Daily start time: 9 AM
Tickets are sold until the daily quota is exhausted Bookings work on a first-come basis, so waiting too long in the day can mean missing out.
How To Book Republic Day Parade Tickets
You can book tickets either online or offline, depending on what's more convenient.
Online booking
Tickets can be booked through the official Ministry of Defence portal: Aamantran Portal (aamantran.mod.gov.in)
You'll need to register using a mobile number and provide details from a valid government photo ID. The same ID must be carried on the day of the event.
Offline booking
For those in Delhi, tickets are also available at selected counters across the city, including:
- Sena Bhawan
- Shastri Bhawan
- Jantar Mantar
- Parliament House
- Rajiv Chowk Metro Station
- Kashmere Gate Metro Station
Counters operate daily during the booking window, usually in two slots - late morning and afternoon.
Republic Day 2026 Ticket Prices
Ticket prices remain deliberately affordable so that more people can attend.
- Republic Day Parade (January 26): ₹20 and ₹100
- Full Dress Rehearsal (January 28): ₹20
- Beating Retreat Ceremony (January 29): ₹100
Lower-priced tickets are for general enclosures, while higher-priced ones offer reserved seating and better sightlines.
Where To Watch The Republic Day 2026 Parade Live
If attending in person isn't possible, watching from home is just as seamless.
Television
The parade will be broadcast live on Doordarshan (DD National) from the morning hours.
Online streaming
