Food Review: California Pizza Kitchen
While crossing California Pizza Kitchen everyday for work used to leave me mouth-watering. So, finally I made a visit to CPK early this week with high expectations. And, CPK for sure kept up to my expectations.
California Pizza Kitchen was originally found in 1985 and is very well-known for its innovative recipes, traditional flavours to create an unforgettable & wholesome culinary experience. A perfect amalgamation of unique and fusion foods with incredible ambience. CPK in Indiranagar, Bangalore is centrally located on 100ft road. The decor has been kept simple to suit the theme.

Moving on to foods, to my surprise California Pizza Kitchen was not just about pizzas. It offers a distinct array of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, pizzas, pastas and an array of hearth-baked dishes for the food connoisseurs. So, I decided to start with a soup and appetizer.
The Kitchen Manager, Sunil Menon advised to order Sedona Tortilla soup and BBQ chicken wonton rolls. The soup had a very tangy taste with tortillas, sweet corn, Mexican peppers and spices. And, BBQ chicken wonton rolls was a new add-on to the menu. Here shredded chicken, caramalised sweet onions, fresh cilantro leaves & mozzarella cheese was mixed with BBQ sause and was served with extra spicy BBQ sause dipping.
Both the dishes tasted marvelous and left me looking forward to more. So, from a vast list of pizzas served at California Pizza Kitchen, I choose to have 9" Kaprow Kai pizza. It was a thin crust pizza and had a Thai flavour of basil & chicken. It was topped with CPK special Kaprow Kai sause, mozzarella cheese, sliced onions, mushrooms, roasted corn and finished with hand torn basil. The only words that came to my mind after having it was 'never tasted a pizza like this'. We asked Sunil on how the pizza tasted so different from others available in the market and were told, they follow almost the same method as used to prepare wood burnt pizzas.
Last but not the least on the menu was the list of desserts served. I decided to end up with CPK special, Tiramisu. It came in the layers of rich Italian mascarpone cheese and expresso soaked lady fingers with house-made sabayon, sprinkled with freshly grated dark chocolate. And, was truly one of the best Tiramisu that I tasted in Bangalore. Just a perfect end to a brilliant meal.
Plus and minus: Open kitchen is a plus point. But, you might find it difficult to park your vehicle on weekends.
