Radio Mirchi - Bangalore, on the occassion of Ugadi presents 'Mirchi Stock Exchange'. The Ugadi bumper contest is an unique contest that gives a chance of winning brand new bikes, laptops, refridgerator, washing machines and many more items in exchange of old products.

Sandalwood star, Ramya would kick start the contest. The contest would take place at the Radio Michi Studio on Bannerghatta Road.

Ugadi marks the new year for people in the Deccan India. The day is celebrated with much enthusiasm by the people in Karnataka and Andra Pradesh. The day is started with a ritualistic oil bath followed by prayers.

A mixture of neem buds (for bitterness), raw mango (for tangy taste), tamarind juice (for sourness), green chillie (to make it hot), jaggery and ripe bananas (for sweetness) and a pinch of salt (for saltiness) is prepared and eaten. It symbolizes that life is a mixture of different experiences and all should be accepted. This mixture is called yugadi pachhadi in Telegu and bevu bella in Kannada.
