The eGourmet Challenge

The American Hospitality Academy has created the eGourmet Challenge – a global culinary demonstration competition. The competition has been organized to celebrate the historic launch of AHA"s World Campus and to promote hospitality and culinary arts as an exciting career path in one of the fastest growing industries in the world!
High school graduates eager to pursue a rewarding career in hospitality, college students enrolled in hospitality or culinary arts programs and professionals in the industry who wish to gain formal training are encouraged to participate.
Through World Campus students around the world are now provide universal access to quality and affordable education in hospitality and the culinary arts.
The eGourmet Challenge
Participants will be required to create a 4 minute to 8 minute video of the preparation of one innovative appetizer from their country that would be appealing to all age groups and palatable to different cultures. The purpose of the video is to inform the viewer about the appetizer being prepared while inspiring and developing the viewer"s interest about your country and it"s culinary delights.
Categories
Professional
Open to those currently employed in hospitality related institutions who wish to gain continuing education and training. in hospitality.
Non-Professional or Student Category
For students currently enrolled in hospitality, hotel management or culinary arts programs in any college or institute of higher education.
Amateur
For high school graduates who are eager to pursue a rewarding hospitality related career.
All Entrants must, at minimum, have graduated from high school. Entrants under the age of 18 years of age will require permission of their parent/legal guardian to participate in the competition.
Ist Price: Full scholarship for Diploma in International Hospitality Management (DIHM) or Diploma in International Culinary Arts (DICA) value USD 18,480
2nd Price: Full scholarship for Hospitality Management Certificate (HMC) value USD 7,040
3rd Price: Full scholarship for Hospitality Professional Certificate (HPC) value USD 3,520
4th Price: Full scholarship for SERVLEAD Certificate (Service Leadership in a Multiculturual Place) value USD 2,640
Entry Deadlines
Entries will start being accepted at 12:01 AM on March 21st, 2010.
Submission Deadline 11:59 PM on April 12th, 2010.
The winners will be announced on April 22nd, 2010.
