True Son Of The Soil: Rajasekhara Reddy Obituary

But sadly, now as reports confirm that the leader has died in the helicopter crash along with all those accompanying him, and we are forced to look back on everything that the great leader stood for.
A physician by profession, he was a man, who carried in his heart the pure understanding of his soil and thus enjoyed the goodwill of the farmers of the state, while agricultural reforms became the center of his welfare activities.
Born in Pulivendula, a small town in Kadapa district of the backward Rayala Seema region, this leader stood for the masses and dedicated his life for the cause of the people of the soil. Through his Prajaprasthanam Pada Yatra, he reached out to the villages across the state, encouraging the spirits and confidence of the people.
An able politician and a loyal congressman, he was a true follower of Mahatama Gandhi and like him he even used to visit the local villages of the state just to inquire on the well being of his people and even his last trip was one such surprise visit.
YSR is survived by his wife Smt. Vijayalakshmi, son Jagan Mohana Reddy, daughter Sharmila, and their children. As the whole nation mourns the death of this able leader, we too are hurt and saddened and believe that the cherished leader would always be missed .
