Meghalaya: A Land Closest To Heaven

Now, as the central government is giving special leave concessions to its employees, visiting the state, the place is witnessing a steady growth in the number of tourists visiting this abode of clouds.
Besides, the richness of its flora and fauna, Meghalaya also a land of various culture. The main tribes of the land Khasi , Garo, and Jaintia with their traditions and folklore add to the rich experience of visiting this place.
Even the central government off-late has been taking measures to promote the state as a tourist destination and had even sent the Union Tourism Minister Kumari Selja there for looking after the promotion plans.
As part of the promotion measures, the union tourism ministry has even proposed for Heli-tourism as a means to add to the charm of the place and the state governor, further even has asked the center to make the helicopter tourism fares affordable, so as to attract more tourists.
If this were not reasons enough to visit the destination, there is more, as Meghalaya also presents in itself some great opportunities for adventure tourism, while with abundance of caves, the region is also a hot-spot for cave-diggers and historians.
With the Union Tourism Minister Kumari Selja pledging to promote tourism in the north-east with the center taking Meghalaya on priority agenda for development of tourism related infrastructure, the land is all set to be a large tourist hub, this is one place that all must visit before they are thirty.
