The Reviving Theatre Tradition In Manipur

The standard of production in the Manipuri theatres are higher day by day. That enabled many Manipuri directors to gain attention even in international arena. The present trend is at par with other theatre groups at national and international-level.
Even though the state doesn't have much privilege in theatres, the State Kala Academy is eager to conduct theatre festivals to promote their rich tradition. Such festivals always provide a common platform for all the playwrights, directors, actors, and designers of Manipur to meet, exchange ideas, views and interact with each other.
The latest hit among Manipui theatre is "The Tigress Story" written by writer and dramatist Dario Fo staged by the Dramatic Education Artistic Labour Reparatory Theatre, Langjing. AGNCIES
