A.R Rahman Wins The Golden Globe

It's finally out and declared that Indian star music composer, A.R Rahman has won the prestigious 'Golden Globe Award' for the best background score for the film 'Slumdog Millionaire'. After winning the Critics Award, there was much anticipation about the Globe.

'Slumdog Millionaire' is a movie that talks about the journey of a boy from rags to riches. It also has the lifestyle of the people living in the slums in Mumbai at the background. As reported by Veriety, the movie has won four gongs at the Golden Globe Awards.

The other two significant winners for the same film are Danny Boyle for the Best Director and Simon Beaufoy for the screenplay. It also won the ultimate 'Best film' award.

The posthumous Golden Globe went to Actor Health Ledger for his role as a joker in the film the 'Dark Knight', he also walked away with the award for the Best Supporting Actor for the same role and film. The award was accepted by the director of the movie Christopher Nolan, on behalf of the late actor.

"All of us who worked with Heath on "The Dark Knight" accept with an awful mixture of sadness but incredible pride," said Nolan.

The 'best actress' award went to Kate Winslet for the movie 'The Revolutionary road' and the 'best actor' was won by Mickey Rouke for the film "The Wrestler".

Kate Winslet also won the 'best actress in the supporting' role for the film 'The Reader'.
