Lead India: Hunt for leaders for a new India

By Staff

Today is the time of reality shows and all television channels compete each other with a variety of them. Lead India, is a totally new kind of reality show started on TV channel 'Star One' on the 8th December with the association of popular media house, 'Times of India'. The Times of India Group launched the show in search of a new bold leader for India. Hosted by Anupam Kher, the program airs on 'Star One' every Saturday at 8:00 PM IST. Citizens of India aged between 25 and 45 can participate in the three-stage contest whose result will be a winner who will be a worthy contender for participating in India's next assembly elections, besides bagging a seat on the leadership and politics course at Harvard University, and a corpus of Rs 50 lakh for pursuing a public-welfare project of choice.

Lead India offers the most deserving a shot at active politics while cutting short the regular long-winded, and often extremely frustrating, path up the political ladder. It is a new twist to Reality Television.

The last few months have seen a fall out of many to come down to the seven finalists who now have a chance to be seen, heard and discovered. These people have the task of grooming themselves to influence in thought, word and deed the entire nation and Indians across the globe to get their votes in order to be the winner.

The finalists are R.K. Mishra from Bangalore, Saumya Mishra from Hyderabad, Sanjiv Kaura from Delhi, Dipayan Dey from Kolkata, Ujjawal Banerjee from Mumbai, Ranjit Gadgil from Pune, Devang Nanavati from Ahmedabad and Abha Singh from Lucknow.

The Lead India contest stands on one belief strongly that good governance is the answer if India needs to overcome many obstacles that threaten our nation"s slow development and therefore, it provides a platform to the deserving men and women who refuse to be daunted by the system and struggle, against all massive odds, to come up as a Leader, so as to make life better for their fellow Indians.

Lead India is a new concept no one has ever dared to attempt, and of course, will lead India to new realms of political revolution. Lead India has been started with the objective of bringing up the next generation leaders for India who will guide the country towards prosperity.

As the finalists would be put through a series of rigorous rounds aimed at testing their true leadership skills, we all would be able to watch the heat, compassion and emphasis on the viewpoints laid by every contestant, thereby, influencing us to choose and vote the person who will 'Lead India'.
