How to battle loneliness?

Loneliness, a beautiful concept to dream of but; a daring act to live with. Have you ever felt that there is no face to remember or a hand to hold at a much-needed situation in life? Do you ever feel that you are in the middle of a vast room with no boundaries and walking to unknown areas without a light to guide you? Do you dread the mornings since it brings the same colour that you are experiencing for days, months or years? Only those people who have suffered the sharp bite of loneliness can understand theses pangs at heart. Here are some helpful tips that will surely aid you to battle loneliness.

Keep yourself busy:

  • Never let yourself drown into depression during loneliness. Prepare a busy schedule or timetable to keep you engaged.

  • Get up early in the morning and try to prepare the breakfast yourself. Your morning hours will go in a glance with this action.

  • If you are working, keep a sharp eye for punctuality and dedication. The praise from your seniors and colleagues may improve your self-esteem and a want of feeling.

  • If you are not working, try to do the household duties yourself. You can even think innovative ways to improve your home, cooking, hobbies etc.

  • Always plan some work for the next hour that would not let you think of your loneliness.

Go Out:

  • Never let your holidays as dreadful days by sitting in your shell. Go out to explore the world around you on those days.

  • You can go out for shopping alone as a primary step. This will improve your confidence to step alone as well as the shopping skills.

  • Secondly have your favourite cuisine or drink in a comfortable restaurant. You may be surprised to watch that you are not the lonely person dining there.

  • Go for a movie that will take you to a different world and make you forget your loneliness.

  • You can join some interesting classes or clubs that would entertain you and implant some special qualities to your personality.

Prepare your mind:

  • Loneliness becomes intolerable when you consider the situation over and over. Look around you and you may find who are unhappy in a relationship. This may bring some solace to your mind that your loneliness is a blessing in disguise.

  • Spend some time for prayers or meditation that will set your mind in peace.

  • If you are unable to find a solution to some problems leave it like that for few hours and engage in some other busy work. The solution will come to your mind after a couple of hours.

  • Engage in your favourite hobbies as reading, listening to music, watching TV etc.

  • Plan your schedule for the next day and go to bed anticipating a new dawn.
