A cheerful or a blithesome disposition contributes to the sunny side of a person. A buoyant and a vibrant mind gives way easily to cheerfulness. Happiness is what everyone is hankering for in many a disparate way and cheerfulness could be the offshoot of happiness. What if an irritant intervenes to hamper one's cheerfulness? Here are a few tips to pep up the mood of a person when he or she is in drooping spirits.
;- ;
- Try to engage the concerned person in some lightsome conversation. ;
- Refrain from asking the reason at the very start; if the concerned person is a dear one, may come up with the cause voluntarily if he or she has to encounter with a new problem ;
- If the problem is new and serious, empathize with the person and delve into the cause of the problem and try to view it at different angles to come up with new solutions ;
- A little sympathy would help in soothing but keep away from an overdose of sympathy as it could push the person further into the problem delaying the solution for it. ;
- If the person is in a very depressed mood let him or her know that problems are universal and the best way is to try to avert them or solve them, as there is no point in crying over spilt milk. ;
- But if the reason is an existing one try tempting the person for an outing or shopping, a walk, dinner, movie or a cafe. ;
- Or you could surprise him or her with a small gift ;
- If the person is brooding over mere trivialities one could pull the other's legs without hurting the other's feelings ;
- You could also indulge in self raillery in a humorous way about one of your problems to ease the tension ;
- Try introducing a subtle humor in the conversation. ;
So how about beating the blues?
