Ajit Anantrao Pawar was more than a seasoned politician; he was a familiar and formidable presence in Maharashtra's public life. Over the years, he shaped key decisions as he handled major portfolios, served multiple terms as Deputy Chief Minister, and played a central role in the state's financial and administrative affairs.
His sudden death has left a deep void, not just in the corridors of power, but across party lines and constituencies that had long known his leadership.
Ajit Pawar is survived by his wife, Sunetra Pawar, who was informed soon after the crash and has been with close family members since. As news of his death spread, leaders from across the political spectrum, including Supriya Sule, began arriving in Baramati, reflecting both the personal loss to the family and the political void his passing has left behind.
What Happens Next?
- The authorities in aviation are expected to initiate a formal investigation into the crash circumstances.
- Maharashtra government officials and central leaders are likely to brief the public with updates.
- Mourning and tributes are anticipated across political lines as the state absorbs the shock of losing a senior leader so suddenly.
This is a developing story and we'll continue updating as more verified details emerge.
