AICW 2015 Finale: Manish Malhotra's Empress Story
The much awaited grand finale of the Amazon India Fashion Week 2015 was vivacious with a closing show by none other than the finest style guru, Manish Malhotra.
Manish Malhotra presented his new collection named 'The Empress Story' which is a celebration of intricate craftsmanship and admiration for traditional hues.
Known to be the frontrunner in Bollywood, the stars favourite designer Manish Malhotra's collection was the best way to fall the silver curtains of the AICW 2015. From heavy embellishments to floral prints, we saw a blend of all on various fabrics and colours.
His collection 'The Empress Story' at Amazon India Couture Week 2015 according to the designer is, "an evening reminiscent of the old world charm from the 1950s when western fashion was being revolutionised and fashion shows had a sense of an intimate experience and luxury."
Textured fabrics, voluminous gown-like silhouettes, and silk and intricate handiwork, thread and zardozi embroidery were used by the designer to give an ode to the era gone by. The colour palette ranges from metallic silver and antique gold to rich burgundy, rose pinks, grey and brown to name a few.
This collection is even more special to Manish Malhotra as the designer presented a preview of his limited edition 'Manish Malhotra London Label.' "It is even more special to me as it also marks the celebration of successful 10 years of my label, "Manish Malhotra' in August 2015."
'The Empress Story' was a treat to the eyes and the beautiful Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was the showstopper for Manish Malhotra.
Apart from women's wear, crisp cut suits and golden embroidered jackets were seen on male models which reminded us of the robust men in the post war era.

Rich Burgundy
The grand finale show commenced with the bold and fierce colour, burgundy. From ball gowns to embellished lehengas, we loved it all.

Anarkali Gowns
Black, mud brown and dazzling ball skirts, tulle, net with flower and bird motifs adorning luxurious volumes were seen on the ramp.

The Empress Story
'The Empress Story' was a treat to the eyes. A variety of patterns and designs were seen in different colour palettes ranging from metallic silver and antique gold to rich burgundy, rose pinks, grey and brown to name a few.

Floral Print
Floral print was used by Mr. Malhotra too! We just love this floral motifs on the lehenga.

Crop Blouses
Some intricate crop blouses with cut-out detail on the waist looked chic with the flared lehenga skirt.

Ball Gowns
Beautiful ball gowns were seen in Manish Malhotra's 'The Empress Story'.

Embellished Jackets
Flared lehenga skirts were worn with mbellished cape jackets.

Floral Motifs
Beautiful silhouettes with floral motifs on lace looked gorgeous on the ramp.

Bird Prints
Some of the creations had birds embellished with heavy embroidery.

Sequinned Sherwanis
Classy black bandhgala sherwanis with heavy sequin detailing in colourful beads looked impressive.

Bandhgala Jackets
Crisp suits with little embellishments and black bejwelled shoes looked elegant.

Floral Motifs
Colourful floral motifs were used to create flowy silhouettes like lehengas and cut-out jackets.

Plunging Necklines
A lot of creations had the plunging neckline. Fro ball gowns to anarkali gowns, plunging neckline looked sexy.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
Ash was the showstopper for Manish Malhotra and the star looked gorgeous in a burgundy anarkali gown. She wore the gown with a golden embellished short jacket.
