The much awaited Wills India Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2014 has opened on a grand note. Ace fashion designer Tarun Tahiliani opened the WIFW AW 2014 with his gold rush royal collection. "The inspirations come from a range of subjects: the satlada or seven-stringed necklace, Mughal cameos, temple jewellery and rich tones of tapestry and jamawar,"

Amrita Sher-gil resonates through his Fall/Winter 2014-15 collection. Tarun said, "The enduring, haunting quality of her paintings has always influenced me."

Saris with waist belts, dhoti pants, printed jackets, lungi skirts, kaftans with belts, intricate salwar pants were seen in Tarun Tahiliani's Autumn Winter Collection at Wills India Fashion Week 2014 ramp. Apart from black and white, deeper shades of ruby, emerald, topaz and rust were extensively used in his collection. Silk drapes in vivid colours and prints looked gorgeous on the ramp.

The set up was very colourful and looked classy. Circular colourful wheel inspired set built up the perfect ambiance for the grand opening. The show opened with various creations in black and then sifted to other colours like ruby, green, red, rust and golden.

The very opening show saw a celebrity showstopper. The gorgeous Shilpa Shetty turned into a sexy bride and set the ramp ablaze for Tarun Tahiliani. Shilpa Shetty wore a multi-coloured lehenga skirt with a crop blouse. Shilpa was accompanied by her upcoming movie Dhishkiyaon co-stars, Harman Baweja and Ayesha Khanna on the ramp.

Lace

The net and lace in gold create a visible aura around the adorned as if you ‘walk in beauty'. Embroidered kalis on soft tulle are light and playful and yet refined enough to be a bulwark of ceremony.

Black Dhoti Pants

Plain black dhoti pants were worn with sheer blouses and shirts.

Jewellery

Plain black silhouettes were accessorised with golden accessories. From thick kamarbandh to hair band, accessories added the special charm to the look. The iconic shape of this jewellery lends itself to the flattering emperor silhouette and lush necklines.

Sequin Work

Silver and golden sequin detailing were seen in the bodice of plain coloured creations. While some were studded embellishments, there were a few which were accessories.

Short Peplum Jacket

Plain black peplum jackets with intricate thread embroidery on the borders were also showcased in his collection.

Sheer Back

Some Pashmina wraps had deep sheer back which featured thread embroidery.

Anarkali

Multi-coloured floor length anarkalis in velvet, silk, lace and prints were seen in Tarun Tahiliani's collection.

Sequinned Blouse

Brocade blouses were embellished with sparkling Swarovski elements. The colours blossom with youthful enthusiasm and resham embroidered kalis with floral artwork give a light romantic pastoral air.

Red Silhouette

Long high low hem anarkalis in bright red colour were worn with pleated dhoti pants.

Belted Kaftan

Flared kaftan kurtas with embroidery on the borders were teamed up with sequinned leggings.

Shilpa Shetty

Gorgeous Shilpa Shetty was the celebrity showstopper for Tarun Tahiliani. Shilpa wore a high low hem flared lehenga skirt with a cropped off-shoulder blouse.

Harman Baweja and Ayesha Khanna

After Shilpa Shetty, Dhishkiyaon co-stars Harman and Ayesha too walked the ramp with Tarun Tahiliani.
