BTS Confirms Full-Group Comeback After Nearly Four Years: New Album and World Tour Announced
K-pop megastars BTS have officially confirmed their long-awaited full-group comeback, ending nearly a four-year hiatus during which the seven members completed South Korea's mandatory military service and pursued individual projects. The news of their return broke the internet and left BTS fans from across the planet in a frenzy after the release of an announcement from Bighit Music regarding the return of BTS with new music on March 20, 2026.
A Historic Return for the Global Icons
BTS, consisting of RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook, has been one of the most influential musical acts of the past decade. BTS was formed back in 2013 and has been a huge success globally, breaking several records and amassing many fans referred to as ARMY.
Their last album together as a group was the anthology album Proof, released in June 2022, before they took an extended break so each member could fulfil South Korea's mandatory military service requirements.
What the Comeback Looks Like
As announced, BTS will release their new album on March 20, 2026, which means that this will be their first group album release in nearly four years. Confirmed by BigHit Music, it was announced that this comeback will not be just an album release, as they are scheduled to kick-start a worldwide tour.
This return comes after the fulfilment of their military duty by all seven members, and Suga was the final member to complete his military requirements in June 2025. The hiatus provided the members with the opportunity to venture into solo projects, participate in other artistic works, and come back refreshed.
Fandom Reaction and Build-Up
The excitement in the ARMY has been brewing for months. Fans rejoiced over the full reunification of the group in a live broadcast last July in 2025, which marked the gathering of all seven members for the first time since their hiatus.
Lately, the group has been distributing autographed postcards and messages to members of the fan club, which point towards a huge event in 2026. This has built enormous excitement amongst the supporters waiting for the official confirmation of its comeback.
Looking Ahead
The upcoming album and world tour also mark a notable point in BTS's history, not only in terms of being a reunion following their military service, but it also marks a new phase in which aspects of their collective pasts meet their individual developments.
As fans prepare for The 5th Album and the concert era, excitement continues to spread across social media and music communities worldwide. With BTS back together, many are calling 2026 the year of their most impactful return yet.
