Telangana is a state in southern India, formed in 2014 by the bifurcation of the combined Andhra Pradesh state. It is landlocked and predominantly situated on the Deccan Plateau. It shares borders with Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh.

Golconda Diamonds
Golconda Fort in Hyderabad was once the Golconda Diamond Market, where the world-famous Koh-I-Noor and Hope diamonds were rumored to be traded. Golconda Fort in the western part of modern-day Hyderabad was a seat of the Golconda Sultanate and became an important center for diamond enhancement, lapidary, and trading.
Kakatiya Kala Thoranam
The Warangal Fort features the "Kakatiya Kala Thoranam," an arch that has become the symbol of Telangana and is incorporated in the state's emblem. The Warangal Fort has four ornamental gates which originally formed the gates to the destroyed great Shiva temple which are known as Kakatiya Kala Thoranam or Warangal Gates.
Medak Church
The Medak Cathedral in Medak town is one of the largest churches in Asia and has a beautiful stained glass window depicting the life of Jesus Christ.Medak Cathedral is one of the most visited churches in South India, which was built by Charles Walker Fasnet of British Wesleyan Methodists and consecrated on 25 December 1924. It is the single largest diocese in Asia and the second-largest in the world after the Vatican located in Medak town.
Pochampally Sarees
Pochampally, a town in Telangana, is famous for its handwoven silk sarees with intricate geometric patterns known as "Pochampally Ikat."They have traditional geometric patterns in Ikat style of dyeing. The intricate geometric designs find their way into sarees and dress materials.
Nirmal Toys and Paintings
Nirmal town is known for its unique toys and paintings, handcrafted with natural dyes and depicting mythological themes. It is a town in Adilabad district, famous for its handcrafted wooden toys and artifacts. The art form, known as Nirmal paintings, showcases intricate designs and vibrant colors.
Licious Cuisine
Telangana's cuisine includes Deccani dishes like Sarva Pindi (a spiced rice flour pancake), Patthar ka Gosht (meat cooked on a stone), and Lukhmi (a meat pastry) and the world-famous Hyderabadi Biryani, a delightful blend of aromatic rice, tender meat, and fragrant spices, originated in the kitchens of the Nizams of Hyderabad, who once ruled the region.
Kakatiya Dynasty
Telangana was ruled by the Kakatiya Dynasty from the 12th to the 14th centuries. The Kakatiya kings were known for their architectural marvels, including the iconic Warangal Fort and the Thousand Pillar Temple.
Medaram Jatara
Medaram Jatara is one of the largest tribal festivals in the world, held in the Warangal district. It attracts millions of devotees who come to worship the tribal goddess Sammakka Saralamma. This festival of tribal origin in Telangana has become a major pilgrimage in the last eight years.
Kaloji Narayana Rao
Telangana has produced notable literary figures, including Kaloji Narayana Rao, a prominent poet, freedom fighter, and activist. He played a significant role in the Telangana movement.
Bathukamma Festival
Bathukamma is a unique and vibrant floral festival celebrated by women in Telangana. It involves creating colorful flower arrangements, singing traditional songs, and immersing the floral stacks in water bodies.
Ramappa Temple
Located in Palampet, the Ramappa Temple is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It stands as a testament to the exceptional craftsmanship of the Kakatiya era and is dedicated to Lord Shiva.
Birth Place of A.R Rahman
The song "Jai Ho" from the movie Slumdog Millionaire was composed by A. R. Rahman, a proud son of Telangana. The song won several awards, including the Academy Award for Best Original Song.
Golkonda Fort Acoustics:
The Golkonda Fort near Hyderabad has a unique acoustic feature known as the "clapping portico." Clapping your hands at a certain point near the entrance produces a distinctive echo that can be heard at the highest point of the fort.
