Susan Boyle Was Like Whistler's Mother

By Devaki

Susan Boyle
Susan Boyle reveals that she looked like the dull character in the oil painting, 'Whistler's Mother'. She was recalling her days before she achieved the super stardom, when she compared herself to the character in the painting.

Whistler's Mother is officially known as 'Arrangement in Grey and Black: The Artist's Mother'. This 1871 painting, is the work of an American McNeill Whistler. It portraits Anna Whistler, when she lived with her son in London.

"Oh for goodness sake! I looked like Whistler''s Mother!" says Boyle. "I do scrub up well. Once I've got the false teeth in and the hair, you know, I'm fine," she added.

The 49 years old Scots singer can now afford to indulge herself with the luxuries but she likes to use the public transport. "Well if you don't want to walk, you catch the bus," advices Boyle.
