Michelle Obama In Colour Controversy

Fashion brings with it glitz and gossip. The gossip may sometimes get into controversy specially when the person is of high strata. The new controversy victim is none other than the First Lady, Michelle Obama, herself. She is in controversy after she sported a nude coloured evening gown at the State dinner in White House.

Michelle Obama, from the very first day that she stepped into limelight was hailed as the ''First Lady of Fashion''. With her personality she could carry off High Street buys and glittering designer gowns with equal panache.

However, this time her fashion brought up some fiction and debate. Her nude colored dress has sparked a debate about race and the delicate matter of whether one can call a dress colour ''nude'' when it really depends on the wearer.

The dress was described by the designer as a "sterling-silver sequin, abstract floral, nude strapless gown".

"We talk of nude now and there is no one colour. It's politically incorrect. There is a wide range for skin tone colours. Human skins tones are a whole colour palette unto themselves. The nude may vary from "light chai" to "espresso" colour," Epstein said.

According to Fashion designers like Vijay Arora and Anjana Bhargav, there"s nothing politically incorrect nor racial about the description of the dress and that people should stop reading too much into such things.

Mrs Obama, loves to experiment with fashion and recently has shown her keen interest in dressing up in collection of Taiwanese-born Jason Wu.

Till date, the biggest controversy over Mrs Obama's appearance was her decision to appear sleeveless in her first official portrait as First Lady. Few felt it looked a bit too informal.
