Michelangelo Dream Exhibition

David by Michaelangelo
The exhibition of Michelangelo's drawings is being conducted in courtauld gallery, london, michelangelo, tommasso de cavalieri's Courtauld Gallery. The major attraction of the exhibition are the sketches which Michelangelo made for a younger man he is believed to have fallen in love with. The name of the young man is Tommasso de Cavalieri, who was just 17 or less the age, when Michelangelo fell in love with him.

The exhibition shows a naked man who has been woken up by a spirit. That young man is believed to represent Tommasso de Cavalieri. It also showcases the handwritten poems to Tommasso de Cavalieri.

Michelangelo fell for the outstanding beauty, gracious manners and intellect of that young man, says the curator Stephanie Buck. "These extremely complex and beautiful works show Michelangelo's power of invention, the immense creativity and mastery in the medium," says Buck.

The exhibition is built around Michelangelo"s The Dream (Il Sogno), considered one of the greatest of all renaissance drawings, given to the gallery in 1978. The exhibition lasts till May 16.
