Lady Gaga Sets A Record

By Suparna Chakaraborthy

Lady Gaga
Pop diva Lady Gaga has added another feather to her hat. She has scored as many as 13 nominations at the MTV's 2010 Video Music Awards (VMAs), the most ever for an artist in a single year.

Some of the categories in which Lady Gaga is nominated to snag a Moonman trophy are best pop video, best dance music video, best female video, best choreography and video of the year.

"I'm so honoured for all the little monsters and self-professed freaks of the universe, to have more VMA nominations in a single year than any artist in MTV history," said Lady Gaga.

She expressed her pride in getting 13 nominations and revealed that she thinks God has put her on earth for three reasons: "To make loud music, gay videos and cause a damn raucous [sic]. Thank you, MTV!"

The awards ceremony will be held on September 12.
