Elton John To Replace Simon Cowell On American Idol

As Simon Cowell has decided to quit American idol, the producers wants Sir Elton John to take his position. Elton John had earlier turned down the proposal from Fox TV, when they offered him the job in January.

“Everyone loves Sir Elton. As well as being outspoken, he has an air of gravitas as an icon of the music industry," said one of the 20 producers of the show.

Having Sir Elton on board would be a guaranteed ratings blockbuster all over the world for the American Idol Show.

Part of the pitch to get Sir Elton on board was that the show can become an even bigger fund raiser for various charities.
