Its The Song Of Peace For A Youth In Assam

It was John Lennon who sang "Give Peace a Chance," for world peace went on to inspire a whole generation. In a similar fashion, a 23-year old Naga youth aims to bring peace to his troubled district in Assam's North Cachar Hills through his music.

Isepung Newme from the Haflong, Lodi Village in North Cachar Hills district is a Zeme Naga and hurt by incidences of violence that has plagued his district, he decided to be the mantle of peace for his town.

Newme, who holds a deep passion for music, is also an able camera person, while is also apt in music editing and has even edited a few of his music albums.

"My album that I'll be working on will convey the message of peace and unity to the masses. It will help them understand the real meaning of peace and brotherhood where all people can live together like brothers and sisters. Till date I've made three albums, two are gospel songs and one had love songs," said Isepung Newme, artist in NC Hills.

Till now Newme has released three video albums so far and were made through basic equipments that were given to him by his father. With a sole dream to spread the message of peace, the young man has encountered many hurdles still undeterred he has relentlessly been pursuing that dream.

The conflicts in the NC Hills has now been addressed in his latest album, while the songs are in different dialects of NC Hills, all humming the tune of peace and harmony to the various communities.
